One look at this notebook
and you’ll see why “the computer is personal
again.” The HP Pavilion DV2809TX Artist Edition
is “designed by you, for you.” The DV2809T
is similar to the powerful specs of HP’s DV2000,
DV2700 and DV2800 models. In fact, at the front base
of the DV2809TX is the DV2000 label, and at the lower
base is the DV2700. The unique paint job, however, makes
this a certain head-turner at Starbucks. It’s
just what you need to work yourself up to that girl
in the red number. (Hey, if she turns you down, at least
she’ll remember your HP notebook!)
The graphics embedded into the DV2809TX’s finish
was the winning artwork designed and voted on from around
the globe. For protection, the design is topped with
plastic trim. Blending with this are the custom-painted
keyboard and glossy gold-colored touchpad. This is truly
a good break from booooring solid-black, -white or -gray
notebooks we have been used to seeing.
Skins from shops that offer to wrap your laptop with
a custom design are prone to scratches and fading. You
don’t want yours to look withered, do you? This
notebook’s paint with plastic, on the other hand,
looks as if it would last long even with daily use.
The chassis quality is also hardwearing, and surfaces
do not have a tendency to get marked with gouges unlike
other shiny laptops.
